@rhoda
Melanie Phillips may be correct.
Her long walk away from Left student politics started when she was at The Gruinard and questioned why they refused to allow the poor and/or disadvantaged to move forward rather than keeping them in a miserable life.
She later realised the importance of the client state to Labour's electoral successes.
.
Note to poor disadvantaged Labour supporters: Labour want to keep you like that to ensure you vote for them.
Pcar, Melanie, not Trevor is my guess.

I do find right wing commentators like Lidell, Philips, Delingpole, KTHopkins, Stein useful cos they raise issues the media forgets or is afraid of mentioning.
Are you referring to Rod Liddle and Trevor Phillips (former chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission)
Both are Labour party members, Rod suspended a month or so ago.

It is staggering how much money effort and importance has been thrown at the Paris Climate Deal, to collect some autographs from people who have committed their countries to do absolutely nothing.

More traffic, more NO2. More traffic, more accidents. So easy to guess there'd be a correlation!

the Alphabet walled garden is OK in many respects at the moment - I'm happy with the high level of functionality I get in all sorts of areas.
The "under the radar" antics that are possible and more to the point - deniable - should be watched out for. They pile in on their own advertising (which is sort of fair enough....) - but there have been accusations of other more politically partisan search meddling - which is incredibly difficult to prove since every last bit of it is programmable and can be configured to actively resist any mapping ...
The attraction of controlling search and interacting with every last iddy biddy thing *every* user does must be irresistible for many in government .
Related in a round about way.....

"Hundreds of thousands of people seeking information about Islamic State on Google have been diverted to anti-extremism search results, as part of a drive to stop Muslims becoming radicalised online."
\\Searches for “Hillary Clinton’s he-” across three different search engines provide quite different results. When searched on Google, the first suggested searches provided are “Hillary Clinton’s headquarters,” “Hillary Clinton’s health plan,” and “Hillary Clinton’s healthcare plan.”// Breibart

DaveS, it is amazing how much more price competitive wind turbines become, if there is no profit subsidy or guarantee. The previous Green subsidies must have paid for fast cars and exotic holidays in far away places.
@Yes you got it right
Lidell's post Brexit video "you're all full of hate" is a great piece of satire against the Virtue Signalling lefties.
..whereas he himself he is a true socialist ..I'm guessing that he feels his party has been hijacked by middle class virtue signallers.
Penn Jilette is also a good commentator and even more outspoken Libertarian than those I mentioned
