Mark,

If that was the standard the BBC uses they wouldn't be reporting 99.99% of the bs they currently do on Trump.

stewgreen - "@Mark .. How can you not know the Jo Sweater Swinson husband story"

Easily! I rarely look at biasedBBC and don't "do" twitter. The MSM haven't looked at the story, so far as I know. The question, for me, is whether the MSM have kept away from it because it's rubbish, or whether they have done so because they just don't want to go near any stories that might damage the LibDems.

@Mark .. How can you not know the Jo Sweater Swinson husband story
about how his NGO Transparency International gets a large amount of EU cash

That came up on bBBC and Twitter 6 weeks ago a least
and is mentioned daily.

However I have never seen them mention another thing
That a black woman who is the media manager at Transparency International is a Brexit Party candidate
I just happened to see her on Twitter the other day

Cave painting recipes recommended marinading for a month in T.Rex gastric juices, but first, you had to catch and peel a T.Rex, something Delia Smith never had to cover in her cookbooks.

"Green streets: which city has the most trees?"

https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2019/nov/05/green-streets-which-city-has-the-most-trees

Nov 5, 2019 at 8:15 PM | Mark Hodgson

The article is a journalistic disaster
“HS2 has already destroyed dozens of ancient London plane trees and priceless green spaces,” the broadcaster and campaign spokesperson Chris Packham said. “It’s an insane act of eco-vandalism.”

How can the trees be described as "ancient"?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platanus_%C3%97_acerifolia

London Planes are being pollarded regularly, along with other trees in the UK because of the damage they CAUSE!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delaware_Mansions_Ltd_v_City_of_Westminster

The article then links to this frank admission of what is wrong:
https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2018/aug/15/what-heat-proof-city-look-like
"All these factors contribute towards a phenomenon called the “urban heat island” effect, which results in cities being up to 10C hotter than the surrounding countryside. How do we to tackle this?"

How true is this story? (now 5 weeks old, but not touched by the BBC or the MSM, so far as I can see). I don't know, but if there's even a grain of truth in it, the irony meter must be off the scale:

"Lib Dem Leaders’ husband in massive EU cash payout storm"

https://unitynewsnetwork.co.uk/lib-dems-leader/

"The leader of the so-called Liberal Democrats Jo Swinson last week wrote to Jean Claude-Juncker to ask that the EU does not give Boris Johnson a revised withdrawal agreement.

Many were under the impression that this was done out of ideology, whilst many Briton’s disagreed, they could understand why it was done. However, UNN has uncovered sinister facts that discredit this theory. Mrs Swinson, since 2011 has been married to Duncan Hames who was a former aide to Nick Clegg, however, this is not the core misdemeanour. Mr Hames is the acting executive director of Transparency IntUK. According to its accounts on its own website, in 2018 Mr Hames’ company received £3,463,555 from the European Commission. Does Mrs Swinson have a vested interest in remaining in the EU?"

[Transparency International UK includes among its stated headline objectives: "an improvement in the accountability and personal integrity of key public officials".

On the same date the story seems to have broke, TI UK scrabbled to issue this statement:

"STATEMENT ON TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL UK INDEPENDENCE AND IMPARTIALITY
October 2, London – Transparency International UK (TI-UK) is an independent organisation within the global Transparency International movement, with its own management team, board of trustees, policies, financial accounts and sources of funding.

We make public policy recommendations to politicians across the political divide with a view to securing legislative and regulatory reforms to prevent corruption. We do not accept any funding from donors seeking to influence these policies, nor are they influenced by those who fund us.

TI-UK is independent and politically impartial and does therefore both engage with and objectively criticise politicians regardless of their political opinion or party affiliation.

TI-UK has neither advocated for or against the UK’s continued membership of the European Union.

Our annual accounts, which list our sources of income, are published on our website. TI-UK is not working on any projects funded by the European Union."

https://www.transparency.org.uk/press-releases/transparency-international-uk-statement-independence-impartiality/

IF the story is true, it MIGHT clear them, but does it clear Jo Swinson? Apparently she hasn't listed this anywhere on the declarations of interest etc required of MPs.

Despite raising it, I don't throw stones in connection with it, because I'm not clear regarding the facts here. Can anyone shed more light, one way or the other?].

The EU are welcome to make up the shortfall of money that has been promised to other countries. A good reason for BREXIT.

Two Green banana skins have just been dropped (I think)

1. All goods and services etc can now have a Bristol Surcharge applied.

2. What happens if asthma etc amongst schoolchildren does not decrease by the amount it was previously supposed to have increased by?
