[I've already opined on the climate weirdness of Tim Farron's constituents]:

"Kendal expert will advise climate change 'assembly'"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science_and_environment

"A university professor from Kendal will be one of the four expert advisors for a "citizens assembly" being put together on behalf of parliamentary committees to help decide government policy on climate change.

Rebecca Willis, who is based at Lancaster University, has done research on how MPs develop policies on dealing with climate change.

The citizens assembly will be made up of 110 people, chosen to reflect the population in factors such as age, sex, and attitudes to climate change, and 30,000 letters are going out this week to recruit members.

Professor Willis said: "My research shows that politicians know that urgent action is needed on climate, but they are not sure how to engage people, and how to win support for a comprehensive climate strategy."

The Citizens’ Assembly will allow participants to work with experts and politicians, to design a climate strategy which fits with people’s lives, values and aspirations."

Rebecca Willis"

Or if you're the BBC 'falling walrus victims of climate change'.

While solitary I think that the young males sometimes semi congregate and wrestle while waiting for the ice pack to start growing.

The BBC has to own up to playing games with Polar Bears, as they indulged in one of their favourites, "Splat the Walrus". I suppose it is their way of tenderising the uncooked meat before it is frozen.

Packham is pretty popular
He's not on air and there are about 20-30 tweets per hour mentioning his name.
but actually only 3 people posted a photo of the lecture
There are certainly not dozens of students raving about the lecture
Maybe 8-12 activists did.

That looks a bit Avaaz - alike and the url of the outfit sponsoring the "study"

https://scientistswarning.forestry.oregonstate.edu/

is quite restrained eh? - the content at that web address is anything but.

I know that Portland has a busy Antifa contingent - I wonder if there's any crossover.

Thought to take a look at the wildfire management section while I was there - totally swerving any criticism of anybody but pleading for more funds .....

Ahhh... renewable Portland

gc, I'm sure that a second hand phone camera would capture perfect shots of their dismayed little faces as they opened their presents to find a new pair of school shoes and a packet of pants.

As a family we had a moment of concord one Christmas when I said 'I don't really like turkey, can we have chicken instead?' After that, there were no leftovers by boxing day. Christmas dinner didn't have to be started at 4 in the morning and Dad didn't get a hernia trying to get a bacon wrapped veloceraptor in and out of the oven on multiple occassions.
