Thank you for that clarification.
Nothing about "beam alignment" or maximum brightness. One set of rules for motorists, with enforced fines, tax, insurance, skills tests etc
https://www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/mayoral/mayor-calls-for-boroughs-to-divest-pension-funds
“From the Caribbean to the Pacific, the last year has brought devastating climate impacts. London should be investing in building a clean, safe energy system for all - not in the industry fuelling the climate crisis."

To tackle climate change head on, we must make sure that London’s pension funds are not invested in fossil fuel companies. I’m already working to deliver ambitious divestment plans and today I’m calling on boroughs to do the same
Times quotes London pollution research today
Claims about the London Congestion zone implemented in 2003
The rules meant cars were kept out
..and meant the zones streets had much more taxis and buses ALL DIESEL ... so pollutants went up.
@STLast night's Countryfile from Telford
what did you think of the rust red river ..they said MUST be cleaned up ?
I've seen places with very high natural iron
There are 2 places called RedBourne around here
@Uibhist a Tuath asked "Did anyone see the item the other day, somewhere on UK TV about windturbines on the isle of Lewis?"
Crofters on Lewis fight EDF wind farm proposal arguing turbines should be community-owned instead

I don't know whether the Highway Code covers bike lights, brightness, ability to flash, and whether they should be mounted on the bike or rider?
Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations
TABLE III :Pedal cycle
Must be “B.S. 6873” approved & marked - Sect. 14.2Front position lamp , Schedule 2: Part I
Rear position lamp, Schedule 10: Part I
Rear retro reflector, Schedule 18: Part I
Pedal retro reflector, Schedule 20: Part I - if manufactured after 1/10/85
Rule 60 of the Highway Code, which says:
"At night your cycle MUST have white front and red rear lights lit. It MUST also be fitted with a red rear reflector (and amber pedal reflectors, if manufactured after 1/10/85).
Re Newish cars & headlamp dazzle.
Very common first MOT failure is misaligned headlamps. Tester usually adjusts rather than failing as no parts required.
Alignment is meant to be done by dealer as part of PDI - they rarely do.
Every - yes every - new or pre-first MOT car and motorcycle I've had has had misaligned headlamp(s) - I check.
Worst was a Golf GTi, inner main beam spots angled 60 degrees too high - zero percent illuminated road or road signs ahead.

Pcar - be careful if you take the dog north of the border - if Thought Police Scotland see any dog raising a paw they might prosecute the owner for hate crime.
We are in porridge wog land, hence the urgency.
We're already guilty: one dog has frequently chased, caught and killed rabbits & squirrels - we know as dog returns with wagging tail & dumps "present" at our feet.
Hold da phones whale stranding occurred at Hamelin Bay (south of Perth) not Hamelin Pool (north of Perth).
Wind back,
Reset.
People are rejecting curbs on CO2 and the World does not notice or care.
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/03/26/parisagreement-climate-accord-fails-co2-emissions-growing-worldwide-trump-vindicated-for-pulling-out/
"The growth in energy-related carbon dioxide emissions in 2017 is a strong warning for global efforts to combat climate change, and demonstrates that current efforts are insufficient to meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
It seems President Trump was right. The U.S. isn’t even a part of the Paris accord anymore since president Trump pulled out of the accord last year, and yet it is the leader in CO2 emission reductions by country.
Predictably, warmists will not be amused."
SG. Didn't see the programme: she who must be obeyed took great exception to the presenters and their willingness to race with each other or demonstrate their inabilities.
I would imagine that most rusty rivers are natural, but they can be exacerbated by mining. Acidic streams (especially those originating in bogs) can leach iron and other metals upstream. When these waters are neutralized by passing across limestones, the metals are thrown out as 'rusts'. Mine wastes can cause this problem to become much worse exposing the rivers to more metals.
