What she failed to say is that their modelling was way wide of empirical data.

That turns out not to be the case.

Look at the second CMIP5 graph here. Current temperatures are running within the forcing adjusted projection(dark grey).

I have just watched the Panorama programme on the weather; it started quite well and was interesting until Julia Slingo started spouting the virtues of climate models. What she failed to say is that their modelling was way wide of empirical data. To me this is very unscientific not to present the data objectively. Also they kept banging on about a warmer planet and it’s consequences without mentioning the fact the planet is in fact not warming. A disgrace !

golf Charlie. Which is worse, the sound of the death throws of sexed-up toads on the roads or the squeal of brakes followed by breaks as cars aquaplane on a sheen of toad entrails and bufotoxin?

I wasn't thinking about climate change. I just thought you might find it useful.

However, when I went looking, 2015 (the warmest year on record) turned out to be an unusually active haboob year. Even the Daily Mail noticed.

EM &SandyS, the fall out from the first devastating Mannboob is still wreaking havoc.

Alan Kendall, some of us country bumpkins sleep a lot better because frogs and toads croak on the roads.

Reported in this week's Waitrose Weekend: Froglife estimate "20 tons of toads are killed on our roads each year". Just thought all you Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda and Morrison types might like to know this.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Entropic man,
The fact it has a name and the mechanism seems well known means that this is just another case of weather. As a result of modern technology we're better at detecting and forecasting things like this.

I suppose that car washes across much of Europe will be busy with people washing off Saharan dust in the next few days. I also expect that later there may be algae blooms in the Mediterranean as a result of dust landing in the water.

All attributable to man burning fossil fuels?

European readers, especially in Italy and the east.

Heads up. There is a haboob coming your way.
