Just checking for errors.

Firefox version 3.6.13 on openSUSE - 11.2

I'll create a second post if I see an error

Being asked for captchas doesn't presumably count as an error?

(But in case it does, XP SP3, Firefox 3.6.13)

Spookily captcha asks for b o b c r w e

What does Bob Crowe know about all this? I smell an establishment conspiracy.... :-P

Testing from Windows XP (x64) with IE8:

-if you make a comment without making changes halfway, you are asked for a catcha, but it works;

-if you make a change to your initial posting, you get the error message:

Test post. I've been having problems similar to that outlined by Frederick Davies over the last several months. Windows Vista Home Edition/Chrome.

Andrew - please see my entry in previous thread - I couldn't post my results on this thread, this is another try...

The captchas have nothing to do with browser or OS. However, I suspect the server timeouts I and Kevin have been getting have to do with the transatlantic cable and the bandwidth of your server on it.

In any case I have Win 7 and Firefox 3.6

The problem doesn't seem to be related to a particular browser. Both Firefox and Internet Explorer show the same issue, at least on Vista64. Generally the preview works but any after fails. It normally takes hours before things recover.

When things go awry they do so in all browsers I can test here. Safari, Firefox, Camino.

So here goes with a test on this thread

A problem which I've had, several times, is that after a couple of cycles of "Preview Post" followed by changing the post, the "Create Post" button fails to work. Right now I'm on IE7 on a Windows XP machine, and there's no specific error message, just a generic "IE can not display the webpage" or some such. I think Firefox had a "connection with server lost" message -- that's only approximate. Perhaps there's a timer involved. If I come back hours later and try again, it works fine.

I keep getting dumped since 02/02. On attempting to post a comment you get an error something like: 'Page Reset' then some waffle about checking your connection and firewall.

There are no problems with either.

I am running Vista (fully patched) and Firefox (ditto):

Firefox/3.5.16 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C)

I can live with this so I'm not moaning, but if this helps pin down the problem, all the better.
