13:30pm Radio 4 Part 2 " James Landale, now explores what will happen as countries around the world develop enough renewable energy to end their dependence on hydrocarbons and assesses the geopolitical consequences of this energy revolution."

Unlistenable cos the guests kept using the term "net zero CO2"
.. That is a PR term ,no one who is talking the real world would use that term
There is no real chance of that

If they had a realistic target say of first getting to zero growth of CO2 and then say down to 80% of todays levels that would be realism.

Super reductions are dependent on when new super fuels like fusion come into use.

BTW no Countryfile viwers tweeted about Climate

Thank you!

The concept of growing bio diesel seemed good. Issues with fuel preheating are overcome by Russians and Canadians. The Green Blob have now killed smaller diesel engines and bio diesel, and the EU has been complicit in wasting billion$ in the process. No one can recall environment health problems caused by London Taxis and buses.

Only EU subsidies could have afforded the skills to devise a combustible fuel oil that will damage diesel engines.

>"But will there be a political pushback from more rural areas, fed up with being pushed by Green Blob City dwellers?"

Already happened. The results of the May 2019 election hinged on that. It was a very close election, too.

These lethal bushfires have changed the zitgeist, though. For example, a lot of those people evacuated by the Navy from beaches backgrounded by advancing forest fires were on camping holidays from the outer city suburbs. Guess what they think now ?

The regional votes are now too small in electoral seat numbers to counteract the suburban fear.

Have Liberal Australian governments done anything to GENUINELY reduce growth in Australian CO2 ?

Yes they have, they have consistently had policies which keep the rate of immigration low
One of the measures was to signal that asylum shopping would not be tolerated
They did this with the offshoring policy .. it stopped refugees turning up on spec.

If Labor had been in power more refugees would have come in
and Australia's CO2 output would have been higher

I reset my temporarily dysfunctional DAB car radio and near instantly regretted it - I'd love to know the real Radio 4 numbers - I have a feeling that they've gone through the floor - it's miserable ....

Countryfile : They just pulled this line
“Climate Changed is causing increased flooding ..bad for wetland reserves ”
.. You what ?
As ever their PR speak makes no sense

Then
“Coming up in this series
.. we’ll be asking you to help in the fight against Climate Change”
