15% of carbon emissions apparently.

If VW (and others) could programme the engine management systems to know when they were being tested, why not just a button or switch to allow the driver to select Max Power or Max Economy or Min Carbon etc?

GC; Have a look at this from Paul Homewood's website:

It would be interesting if there was photographic evidence of what does, and what does not provide power, heat and light to COP23.

Stew, camshaft not crankshaft. I understand the distinction is important to engineers. Could be something there, but 15% of what? Overall efficiency? That's a lot Incremental?, not so much but still worthwhile.

Golf Charlie,

They won't care about the weather as they will be inside all day long in nice warm cosy buildings.

What would be funny is they printed some bullshit about the carbon footprint of the love fest? Bet all the forests in the world couldn't offset that!! :)

Cambridge firm Camcon (daft name)
claims new crankshaft alternative increases carbon efficiency by 15%.

Are they carbon neutral because they have a certificate confirming they have paid people not to cut down trees they didn't even own? There is a lot of money within the Green Blob for helping people do nothing useful.

Next page talks about Lancaster field discovery in North Sea now confirmed as 2.3bn barrels 1/4 of which is recoverable.
That sounds like much more energy than Google uses.

Times full page Google ad feature
Contains bits of green crap
"Tenth year as carbon neutral"
"Now using 100% renewable energy to power our operations"
No they are not they are using whatever electrons that come out of the cable.
I bet they are counting bio, rubbish burning and nuclear as renewable.

Dec 2015 \\Across Google, we're currently using renewable energy to power over 35% of our operations //

Now
\\. In all, Google has signed agreements with 20 wind and solar projects for more than 2.6 gigawatts, an effort that has allowed it to reach a milestone few companies have approached: As of 2017, Google is on track to purchase enough renewable energy to match 100 percent of its operational needs.//

What's that mean ? capacity or 247 output ?

Bonn Weather

It should help COP23 delegates realise how much nicer a bit of warmth is.
