"How is this even legal? Surely it's discrimination?
Apr 19, 2019 at 7:11 PM Mark Hodgson"

Must be another of those tiny little differences between Scottish and English Law that allows Scots to discriminate against the English

C5 adverts are popping up saying
"Shell energy all our customers get 100% renewable electricity"
\\ All of our electricity comes from 100% renewable sources like wind, solar and biomass.
Our renewable electricity is certified by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin(REGOs),
which means that all of the electricity you buy from us
is matched with the equivalent amount of units from 100% renewable sources in the UK.
.. This change is driven by growing energy demand and an urgent need to curb CO2 emissions. //

the finding that emissions are "not zero" for EVs isn't new - it's just that with the grip that the blob has on the dimwitted the truth doesn't get out as much as it did.... TfL will argue that gas cars pollute the same as diesels if they feel like it - you can drag horse to water etc.

Elsewhere C4 "News" chief correspondent says Attenborough prog should be "shown in every primary and secondary school everywhere forever" really.

https://notrickszone.com/2019/04/19/new-german-study-shocks-electric-cars-considerably-worse-for-climate-than-diesel-cars-up-to-25-more-co2/
\\ According to a new German Uni study,
electric cars have “significantly higher CO2 emissions than diesel cars”,
and especially the Tesla Model 3 “performs particularly poorly”
as it emits over 150 grams of CO2 for each kilometer it travels!
...
According to the study, the methane-powered engine is the cheapest and is almost a-third lower in CO2 emissions than the diesel engine. //

and from biofuel you can have :“green” methane.

Green goon MEP and aspiring Peer of The Realm the ghastly (imho) Molly Scott-Cato polishes up her authoritarian credentials

I'm not aware that during her time sucking down €200K a year that she's actually done anything of note for her actual constituents.

More on the hypocrisy of the Extinction Rebellion leaders:

"The Extinction Rebellion leaders: Jet-setter Robin Boardman, a Buddhist teacher and a yoga instructor"

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/04/17/extinction-rebellion-leaders-jet-setter-buddhist-teacher-yoga/A leading Extinction Rebellion activist who said that “air travel should only be used in emergencies” lives a jet-set lifestyle, taking skiing holidays, visiting global landmarks and enjoying walks along palm-tree lined paths.

Robin Boardman-Pattinson walked out of a television interview after being branded “incompetent, middle-class and self indulgent” by Sky’s Adam Boulton, but The Telegraph can reveal that climate change is not the only cause which he fights for.

The 21-year-old is a serial protestor, who has railed against Dominos Pizza, Bristol Magistrates court, Toby Young and Bromley Council.

He’s also campaigned against the expansion of Heathrow airport, supported Muslim women wearing Hijabs and Niqabs and asked for retail space in Bristol turned into a slave trade museum.

Worryingly, he also shared a post which calls the allegations of anti-semitism in the Labour party “a massive smear campaign against Jeremy Corbyn by the Netanyahuite supporters in the party and wider media/society.”

[And more].

"Free tuition to continue for EU students in Scotland"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-47989007

"New students from EU countries will still be entitled to free university tuition on courses which start in 2020, the Scottish government has confirmed.

The arrangements will cover EU students for the duration of courses which begin next year. A Scottish university degree normally takes four years to complete.

EU students are currently entitled to the same free university tuition as Scots under European law.

However, students from other parts of the UK are charged tuition fees."

How is this even legal? Surely it's discrimination?

...."Further and Higher Education Minister Richard Lochhead said Scotland was "open and welcoming" and he urged anyone thinking about their education to consider coming to Scotland."

Open and welcoming, that is, unless you're Welsh, English, or from Northern Ireland, in which case you have to pay.

Plod have been ordered to go easy on XR - that is unequivocal.

I've had more plod hassle removing licensed and paid for equipment from sites in central London than I see XR receiving.

Mayor Khant and Mrs Maybe both have reasons to indulge the twerps.

Just watch how the inevitable revolt of "van man" from the counties around London will be handled.
