Mann livestream

There is a livestream of today's Mann/CEI/Steyn courtroom hearing available here. You need to select the Ceremonial Courtroom feed at 9:30 EST, which I think is 14:30 GMT.

To set you up for the occasion, there's an excellent article at the Daily Caller, which will certainly whet your appetite.

'Overwhelmed by interest'

Or perhaps Mikey is pretending its covered by non-existent confidentiality agreements. A juvenile ploy he learnt from Phil (I've been a very naughty boy) Jones.

I can't get on either. Mark Steyn tweeted these instructions
Keep trying. Close completely out and reopen using IE browser and go to Ceremonial Courtoom feed.

I'm getting video of a fairly gruesome murder trial on the Ceremonial Court feed.

Am I doing something wrong - or have there been exciting developments regarding Mikey's furious wielding of his hockey stick?

I'm getting it by viewing the DCCA3 download - and it works in WINAMP, not WMA. It takes time to conect. Pretty stodgy stuff.

I managed to get a connection after trying a few times but video and sound were both intermittent. Can only assume the court is powered by a windmill. It did seem that the defence lawyer got the point across about hide the decline

Will these judges find for Mann?

Pros: A rather dodgy academic stops people calling him dodgy.
Cons: They find their judgement & themselves heavily critiqued by every newspaper, blogger, judge, jury and executioner and go down in history as the judges that tried to end free speech in the US.

@ Mike Haseler
You would think it would be a simple as that...but this is the American legal system we are talking about. Expect a fudge in about 5 years time.

So, any updates from the hearing?

Steyn is looking very confident in this latest interview apparently after this latest court appearance:

American justice is heavily corrupted by lefty politics right now. I would be cautious before declaring any sort of victory.

Nov 25, 2014 at 9:47 PM | Unregistered Commenterhunter

Hunter: "American justice is heavily corrupted by lefty politics right now."

That's why he will win, because it's the left who are most in favour of free speech.

If Mann was to win, he needed three grumpy old men fed up with journalists expressing their own views.

Nov 25, 2014 at 9:55 PM | Registered CommenterMikeHaseler

I'm with you Hunter. I can see this judge punting this on to someone else to make a decision by sticking to the "status quo" and letting Mann carry on as if he was a Mann God thus forcing everyone to continue to fight it out in court!

Sorry, just the opposite. The left love free speech until someone says something they disagree with (they are the authors of the politically correct speech movement). Steyn has already been up against a lefty free speech limiting law in Canada, and he won that, luckily.

@Glenn Dixon - you'd have a point if the law were "if you are right wing X if left: Y... ", but for some strange reason they aren't allowed to have different laws based on your politics and judges are sensible enough to know that what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

If anyone has links to a place where the oral argument can be streamed or has an audio file that can be shared, I would hope they would post the location. I would like to listen.

Mike,
It is modern conservatives (grumpy old men) who still practice tolerance and believe in free speech.
It is the post modern, post normal, consensus believers who will find ways to justify censorship and who confuse their beliefs about science with immaculate revelation.

So what was the outcome? Guilty or Not?

Nov 26, 2014 at 3:57 AM | Unregistered Commentereliza

Thank you, Hunter, but having grumpily maintained Steyn's right to speak his piece in Canada, I must hold him accountable for a legal hiding, if not a horsewhipping, when he libels Americans as thoughtlessly and thoroughly as he has.

Russell,

Hence free speech. You might not like what he says BUT it is his right to say things you don't like. You have no right to be outraged.

Mann, in the Real World (tm), doesn't have a leg to stand on since he is a public person and worst still, he has incredibly thin skin...AND...since when was it illegal to take the p1ss out of someone?

MIke,

Your faith in the judiciary is, sadly, somewhat misplaced. We are here exactly because of Judge Coombs-Green's incompetence. I don't see this next judge doing anything different and instead will just punt this off to the next court for someone else to make a decision.

I see Mann didn't even bother turning up.

http://www.steynonline.com/6680/where-steyn-goes-no-mann-goes

I hadn't realised that Steyn wasn't even involved in yesterdays events as he WANTS his day in court and to get Mann on the stand...something Mann doesn't actually seem all that keen to do for some reason.

I dunno...if I was in charge (apart from a lot of people going missing) I would make it grounds for dismissal if the person driving the suit didn't bother to turn up to court.

I didn't get to read the comment Political Junkie did write, what I will say is if he was making personal slights towards that horrible specimen - Mann than I can only sympathize. The whole rotten carcass, that man made warming myth is coming apart at the seams - the lies have been widespread and egregiously done. Just this week, the New Zealand temperature records show no significant 'warming' in 60 years, the CET is a glorious of example of "nothing to see here" and what with Australia trying to cheat but found out - BOM - who else? Then, in the United States, there is this.

The next graph shows the total adjustments NCDC are making to the US temperature record. They knock about one degree off of older temperatures, and add a few tenths of a degree on to recent temperatures. Extrapolating out to the year 2035 when 100% of reported temperatures will be fake, the total upwards adjustment will be about one degree, making for a total adjustment of about two degrees.

Clear.................... how much clearer can you be?

In order to 'prove' their blasted notions of computer modelled theory global warming faeries, they fiddled and spliced and diced the figures. The whole lot of them, from Hadley Exeter, and Mike Hulme and Phil Jones to Mike Mann and the all over the states from Boulder, Maryland, Asheville NOAA, to NASA-GISS and over in climate fudge and dodgy graphics central - Penn State alchemy-ology faculties, they fixed it good. Mann, needs dressing down and a more than a few days in the slammer - first and foremost the bloke is a fraud and dodgy statistician non-pareil. And......... if he's innocent.......on the straight and narrow, if you're kosher Michael, then: allow the world see your data sets, Mr. Mann?!

Do these people release just the raw, unadjusted temperate data?

@Mailman

Now on what rational reason do you think Mann would be "keen" to debate Steyn on this. Certainly never worked for him in the past so why should it now? Game theoretic approach would imply he has little to gain nor prove, especially in this forum.

Would be a bit like Einstein being forced to debate General Relativity with a disbelieving member of ISIS.

Indeed. Sue them instead. That clears things up quickly and inexpensively.
