Greens prevented environmental testing

From the introduction to the Environment Agency's report on water at the Balcombe drilling site:

Many people have expressed concerns that the Cuadrilla drilling site near Balcombe West Sussex will cause the water quality to deteriorate. Before drilling took place, both Cuadrilla and the Environment Agency tested the borehole water and surface waters (streams) around the site.

We reported the findings in August 2013 in our Pre-drilling report. We wanted to repeat the water quality sampling during the test-drilling to see if there were any changes. However, we weren't able to do this as access became difficult during the protestors' occupation of the area in August. We did, however, collect a sample from the borehole at this time and subsequently took samples from the Lower Stumble area when it became safe for our staff to do so.

Greens not only damage the environment, but they prevent others from protecting it.

They should take soil/water samples from where the protesters camp was so as to determine what environmental impact the protesters had.

I also wouldn't put it past the green taliban to deliberately contaminate the area so as to blame Cuadrilla.

The Green Taliban have nothing to do with conserving the environment. Religious zealots like them do not care about people or communities, they have the divine right to counter evil wherever they find it no matter the cost (to others!).

Bring back the Witchfinder general!

From the Environment Agency's report "The latest data shows that both of these have declined substantially but they are still high for environmental water samples. Methane levels also remain high in the borehole water."

Now when Greenp*** have finished with the report "The latest data shows that methane levels are high in the borehole water"

So what's the odds on a "Guardian " headline "Methane found in groundwater at Balcombe fracking site"

I for one wouldn't bet against you on that one, Don.
The interesting point is that methane levels "also remain high" in the borehole.
Best way to solve that problem would be to extract it, no?

Standard operating procedure for lying scum - prevent collection of data so you can tell whatever lies that best serve your twisted purpose. We've seen it so many times with criminal damage to GM environmental safety trials - and our useless/complicit authorities fail to prosecute.

They probably thought that stopping any activity on the site would mean that the whole process would have to stop. Seems like they were wrong.

Good.

They are a stupid bunch of Luddites. Bring back the cat o' nine tails.

Most borehole water contains dissolved methane due to the respiration of anaerobic bacteria. This is normal and harmless.

Ammonia was higher after the protest. That'll be protestor pee, then. The only pollution at this site came from the protestors.

The green war book on fracking seems to be along the lines of always say, "fracking may contaminate the water supply". My local green always says that line when she has a letter in the press on the subject, when ever you see them on question time or whatever it is always parroted without challenge. So it makes perfect sense for them to disrupt any sampling which would show there is no problem.

Greens not only damage the environment, but they prevent others from protecting it.

Alternatively, Greens prevent others from dispelling the myths they perpetuate.

Of course they prevented the testing. Wouldn't do for there to be even more proof that the stories they tell about the dangers of fracking are nothing but lies to control peoples lives and force them to accept the green dogma.
