Just the man to run an inquiry into allegations of misconduct against climate scientists then.
The subject of the meeting is the energy gap:
The UK Government has a Herculean task – in both maintaining electricity supplies against obsolescent generating capacity, and in meeting very challenging carbon reduction targets, and moreover in achieving this through market mechanisms.
I wonder if Lord O will be arguing for extensive investment in wind power?

Does one only wonder if he's going to argue for
birdshredderswind power or more probably, how strongly he's going to preach for it ?I wonder if Lord O will be arguing for extensive investment in wind power? - if theres money involved then my guess would be yes, whats that he's on a baord that stands to make lots of money from wind power, well I hope that he declares this bias in any goverment funded reports he gives.
I could go on but it's the weekend so i'm off down the pub for lunch.
I wonder if he will confirm that the environment policies of the british government have been put into the hands of WWF.
Meanwhile, he will be increasing his portfolio in rare metals, particularly Neodymium.

I assume Oxburgh has been invited along for light relief, but perhaps he's owed another drink for the "blinder" he played.
It doesn't have a "Herculean task" at all. All this is required is for government to get out of the way and allow the free market to build, under a level regulatory field, as much inexpensive nuclear capacity as theie is, or would be a market for with electricity prices 1/4-1/10th what they currently are.
It requires no labours at all by government. That it appears to be far beyond their competence doesn't make it difficult.
Lets not be unfair its not possible to pick up the big fat easy pay days as Lord O did for this 'work' with CRU all the time .
I am sure that Lord O will be doing exactly what he is told to, and paid to do
And just why do we have to reduce carbon emissions? There is only, what 0.03/0,04% CO2 in the atmosphere, a bit more might increase crop yields, even "organic" ones.
I think we residents would much rather they stayed away.
I'd go if it was a nominal cost but way too dear for an afternoon's entertainment. I do know the chap chairing it, might tap him up to see if any freebies going if headcount is light.
