Brainwashing British Children

This morning I've been on childminding duty, with the smallest of the Baby Bishop keeping me occupied with a variety of more or less charming antics. The weather has cheered up (well, it's above freezing and the sun's out) and so we got out for some fresh air.

Duly refreshed and with fifteen minutes to kill before lunch, we switched on the television and caught a programme called Barnaby Bear on CBeebies. I don't know why I still let the children watch anything the BBC produces, I really don't, and true to form even Barnaby Bear managed to be infuriating. Yes folks, BBC output for preschoolers is just as disgustingly political as the rest of its output. Can anyone at the BBC stand up and tell me that it is considered suitable for preschoolers to watch a section about roads protesters at Twyford Down? Complete with Lord Porritt bawling into a loudhailer? I know he's a hero to those on the left, but this is meant to be a programme for the under fives, for heaven's sake! Barnaby Bear and the Twyford Down protesters? What planet are these people on?

I have seen that segment as well - luckily there were some visiting children in the house as well otherwise damage to the TV might have been done (As it was I was able to tell my tales of driving through the site on business at the time and how few protesters there actually were)

I think they, the BBC, need to be terminated by a Dalek. I have been disappointed with their output for 10 years now but so few people care, they are just able to get away with it. Wake up everyone.

Talking of childrens stories I wonder why the recent wind generator failure has had such a lot of childish speculation about UFOs pushed in the media about it:

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the Twyford Down protest end about 20 years ago? - Setting aside the blatant PC agenda how can that the BBC feel taht tis issue is in any way relevant to under 5's

I remember watching Barnaby the Bear ages ago and am racking my brains to recall a political aspect to it. Yes, his dubious assertion that "birds taught me to sing" was never backed up by much evidence. Or is this a different Barnaby?

There's actually an important issue here though isn't there. The kids don't know they're watching political propaganda, so I really should step in.
