Abolition of income tax
Mar 3, 2008 Libertarianism
Well, nothing like arriving with a bang.
The UK Libertarian party has issued its first policy - the abolition of income tax.
It's radical, and I fear it will allow opponents to portray the party as lunatics, but who knows, maybe people are ready for something radical?

It's worrying when even libertarians are fighting over the centre ground.
Never and I hope that is not their goal. They should be challenging the orthodoxy not re-enforcing it.
Next time I'm in the pub spouting drunken nonsense I don't want my fellow drinkers to turn around and say "even the Libertarian Party believes in a big state and central banks."
By the centre of politics moving towards your position, not by moving to theirs.
If no one is saying "abolish income tax" - it will never happen.
Just look how far Labour has moved towards a more economically liberal position. Even in welfare they are slowly moving in the right direction. (Sadly backwards on civil liberties)
If you want to find nutters you need to look to the left.
