Stewgreen: good to see a council with a modicum of common sense. Did the foe state what the “expected” level of air pollution was?

Diesel : Yesterday Radio Humberside led with "FoE say levels of pollution in Hull are extra high"

Friends Of The Earth has been monitoring air quality in Hull city centre amid concerns over diesel emissions in the city.
The results show higher than expected air pollution around Hull Interchange and on Castle Street.
(The local council's reply was that you have to make a study over a full year)

Today media are reporting a study by testing company Emissions Analytics (.com) Emissions from new diesel cars 12 times above legal limit NoX
I wonder if that is actually harmful or are the limits ridiculously low

golfCharlie. Good to see you back atfull power.
I was expecting Corbyn's renewed British Rail to be breeding from the newly restored Flying Scotsman, and fed by imported North American woodchips. The smell of burning spruce forests wafting over the British countryside.

yeah ... agreed - it would be amusing to see them systematically dismantled but I suspect that's well beyond the capabilities of likely sociology based participants signing up for some circle jerking - more's the pity.

ACK, with no reliable electricity to power high speed trains, there will need to be advances in clockwork technology, or redundant and unwanted Russian "Olympic fitness" coaches will have to develop fast-breeder, drug-fuelled mice, to spin the wheels of British transport.

golfCharlie. With completion of a high-speed rail connection between Manchester and London, Corrie and Eastenders could merge, with enormous production and viewing energy savings. Pity Peggy kicked bucketwise, her meeting northern folk would have been an experience.

tomo.
It's an elective class and students are informed beforehand what the class entails.

There would seem to be plenty of room for subversives to operate within the imposed rules. If, for example an increase in insect-vector diseases is mentioned, this can easily be countered using IPCC material alone. The restrictions only apply to climate change, so counter material dismissing adverse effects caused by fracking could be used with impunity. Would love to be a student again and take the module. Perhaps interested people could feed Notre Dame students relevant material.

The sad thing is that most Notre Dame students would probably be quite content with the rules and will welcome the freedom not to be distracted by ranting "deniers".

TinyCO2, if it wasn't for the reheated salmonella dishes, the nation would stop running.

US academic sociology goons trying to bully their students into chanting climate mantras - "Professors" Rebecca Laroche, Wendy Haggren and Eileen Skahill - out themselves as credulous numpties on a mission to bludgeon dogma into their students. They've added a 1% to "the consensus" too!

Not very impressive ....
