I do a fair bit of driving around town / city centres and have several LPG vehicles (see previous comments....)
I have noticed that buses in particular do not seem to have well adjusted / mapped diesels (I reckon there are only a small proportion mechanically injected nowdays). Accelerating away from a stop routinely burps a noticeable cloud of soot. Subjectively smoking buses seem to be the majority - with many running seemingly overfueled (black smoke) all the time.
The utility of LPG for buses is a proven thing. Good range, lower overall emissions (not dramatically - but very consistently) , lower fuel cost, lower maintenance (fewer oil changes, longer lived engines) - in fact - pretty positive all across the board and taken up in literally dozens of urban centres around the planet with noticeable improvements in air quality and economy.
In the UK the gormless ideologically driven feckwits pushing the transport agenda have scorned LPG as "evil fossil fuel" and have as far as I can see insisted that magic electric buses must be the answer.
I know of one importer of LPG equipment that have almost given up on trying to get through to the moronic numpties at TfL and government departments - the frustration and exasperation they have dealing with people who are simply blanking them as "fossil fuel" is wearing them down. The government's own research indicates (shows unequivocally actually) that LPG will give benefits on several key air quality indicators and reduced operating costs.
The Green parasites actively block and ignore using gas - it's near criminal incompetence - but then you can't cure stoopid Why they haven't been called out and confronted with their stupidity and stubbornness - I dunno - it's obvious but they still cling to magic electric and fuel cells and ... and ... the usual carnival of Green fantasy energy.

Ipsos/Elsevier appear to be getting rather desperate about their study on the effects of Brexit on research. I have now been contacted 4 times by email to contribute. Responses might well be very sparse.

@SandyS well as I said on the Radio4 FB group the lying greens keep telling me "Apparently Radio4 has a complete blackout on Green politics."
Which is daft cos I can normally point out a green being on R4 within the last 3 hours.

Not sure what problem you're highlighting but a couple of thoughts.
Could the Green Party's problem be the number of votes cast at the General Election(s)? In 2015 they got about 3.8% of the national vote. The SNP got 4.7%, and UKIP 12.7%. For a long established "single issue" party they are in third place. On the other hand because their vote is national rather than regional they have the same under representation problem as UKIP and the Lib Dems,

Re R4 Today Show : Whilst searching for "Green Party" appearances I see they are not listed on the R4Today pages
but I know Jon Bartly was on on Mon or Tues
..and they scrub off the running order from the webpages from past weeks.

Yep many bus stations are indoors.
Better to have buses leave from road stops on their side of town centre.

As a country bumpkin, yottie, student farm labourer, sometime gardener etc, the weather has always been an important part of my life. I appreciate that the weather in the UK does change, and very dramatically. Local forecasts of impending weather change have been an important part of survival in the British Isles since before the Romans turned up.
The best weather forecast of all time, for the British Isles and the rest of the world, was this one:

and it was done without satellites in 1944.
The worst one, was 15th October 1987, delivered by Michael Fish, but prepared by the late Ian McCaskill, just months AFTER the Met Office had installed a sooper dooper expensive compooter.
I have good reason to remember the 1987 forecast, AND consequences, had a minor Met Office involvement in 1987, and heard Ian McCaskill speak of his own involvement.
It is time all of the money wasted on Climate Science was halted, most of the results are (s)crap. All we want is better weather forecasts, no one cares about wrong predictions about climate.
97% of Climate Scientists still endorse Mann's Hockey Stick, which "proves" the climate never changed in the past. 97% of Climate Scientists must therefore be dishonest and/or incompetent. If Climate Scientists have to be dishonest about the past climate, no Taxpayer should be forced to pay for their error based and error prone guesswork.
