I wonder if, when the charging points are on public land ... if the usage stats are FoI-able....

There's two points in my town (on a council car park) that I've only seen a car charging at mebbe once in over a year....

I have had occasion to visit the High Court several times recently. In Temple Place, adjacent to Temple tube station, there are 2 "electric vehicle" only parking spaces. They were always vacant when I walked past. If you find the spaces on Google Maps, they were vacant when that photo was taken too. Waste of space!

On the premise that " If it an't broke don't fix it " Why did they change an excellent two tier training system for nurses (SRN and SEN) to an expensive degree system ? and seeing they made the mistake why did they not have the courage to revert to the tried and tested system?

BBC : "EU nurse applicants drop by 96% since Brexit vote"
"Last July, 1,304 nurses from the EU joined the Nursing and Midwifery Council register. That compares with just 46 in April this year"
Hmm ...anything missing there guys ?

Nursing Times : "Nursing directors say language test is too difficult and delaying recruitment"

Eurocivit : "Other reasons that could explain the decline include the toughening of the English language test in 2016, or the sharp decline of the pound, which has cut wages in euro terms."

This article at businesscar.co.uk rather takes the PR polish off the electric car piece.

It would seem that the new outfit have ties to the infrastructure installers who in turn are of necessity dependent on the collaboration of councils for planning regs and provision of floor space.... (just mebbe ... there's a backscratcher of "free" cars for council folk?)

The numbers of charging points is the subject of claim and counter claim.

The prospect of that all-electric black cab fleet must be giving cabbies sleepless nights ... at this stage in the game a network of viable chargers should've been well and truly in place. I forsee electric cabs turning up from China with electricity provided a la Tesla by diesel generators.....

No doubt it can all be resolved via some memos and agile press releases.

As anybody who's had to pay for parking in London recently can vouch - the mere presence of these electric cars parked on the roads is a substantial financial burden on the operators .... or not.... be useful to know what they pay to use London streets....

Just got an email looking for participants ...what's to stop Green Groups rigging it by loading it with their mates ?

"In this study, we are interested in the kind of new ideas that people have about designing better environmental policy, such as reducing the pollution from air emissions, increasing the rate of recycling, reducing food wastage etc.
You will be joining a group discussion, of up to five people, to generate various NEW ideas.
The total length of the study session is approximately 45-60 minutes and you will receive £10 for your participation.
The study session involves group-based tasks so it is very important that participants arrive on time for their scheduled time slot.
There may also be maintenance works on our toilet facilities, so these will likely be out of order during the study."
I can't see the study being full of older people who know what the talking about stuff.
And by phrasing it "to generate various NEW ideas" ..they are not likely to get scepticism ...it's set up to get dreamers
