it seems reasonable to assume that Electricity North West doesn't have people in its PR department who have a clue about the product....

Why just the other day I was listening to a Shell radio advert proclaiming their carbon neutrality....

I wonder how they're going to spin it when there's only windmills and solar panels.

I was regaled by an account of a maize growing biofueller farmer yesterday who apparently blithely admitted that only 20% of his income came from selling product - the balance was subsidy.

I see that Electricity North West are the latest outfit to believe that the can change the specific heat of water by reducing the power consumption of a kettle. I still believe it takes about 4.2 kJ per kilogramme per degree Kelvin. Of course it doesn't help the grid either. Reduce the power of kettles, and more of them will be boiling water at the same time. The result is no saving in instantaneous demand, and probably increased energy use as the longer boiling time allows more heat loss.

BBC : "Morgan Stanley has calculated ...net zero emission target by 2020"
2020 !
Doh BBC Forbes say "a new report from Morgan Stanley analysts finds that to do so by *2050* the world will need to spend $50 trillion in five key areas of zero-carbon technology.
..yeh basically 5 key funds which MS manage : EVs, hydrogen etc.

Ghana : "How coastal erosion destroyed a Ghanaian village"
Wow in 2016 the sea used to be on the lefthand side of the village
..and now in 2019 it's on the righthand side of the village
in the BBC's side by sides shots
which are stupidly deceptive

It's the same place from the BBC report of 2016
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-36257360
"Fuveme, in Keta municipality of the Volta region, makes it particularly prone to sea erosion.
It lies between the Gulf of Guinea and the Keta Lagoon."
It's a spit of land between the big Volta River and the sea
The reporter says Climate Change and rising seas
The local said "tidal waves"

As it happens I used to live in a similar place in 1997-8 Kokrobite, Ghana
Life is kinda easy cos it's tropical, You can basically sleep outside , people don't need much clothes, women just wore a skirt
People live in shacks ..you'll see in the film there is no 200 year old church or anything
, but every so often you get huge storms from the sea.. that is when erosion could happen.

I never noticed erosion, cos actually there are way worse things to worry about. There was loads of malaria and AIDS ..people died all the time.. I'd advise against visiting.
It's corrupt as heck at a local level.

I see that locals concerns about people trafficking at Purfleet aren't running in the victimhood parade that is presently dominating the UK MSM BBC.

I understand that locals are saying that it's been going on at a high tempo for a number of years and that their concerns have been ignored. Times

I didn't notice a white saviour, only some who did what they should have done all along. Yes, it was changed to improve the story, but then most 'true' stories are. Even when we tell stories about ourselves we miss out the boring bits, the miserable failures and the lack of any speedy solution.

One of the flaws in camplaints about racism, sexism, homophobia, trensgender phobia etc is that there is no baseline of abuse to subtract from special bullying. People often find reasons to bully others, it doesn't mean that their unpleasantness is any more nasty than their regular nastiness. Bullying should be dealt with as bullying and not as a minority Top Trumps. It's why all those police forces ignored child sex abuse by certain ethnic groups. They decided that brown men were more disadvantaged than young white females. Also the authorities decided that young white females who wanted to express their freedoms by being out at all hours, drinking and having much older 'boy friends', were more entitled than parents or carers who tried to stop them. We haven't learnt from those cases, partly because nobody is prepared to accept that they were responsible for endangering themselves. One of the way idiot feminists damage their cause is by pretending that there is only 100% of guilt. Thus if a woman has helped her own downfall, the man/men involved must be less than 100% guilty. Wrong. in any event there can be many multiples of 100% responsible, especially as there are multiple bad behaviours. eg when 2 people rob a bank, they are both 100% guilty. Bank staff who leave doors open and alarms off are not guilty of burglary but of negligence. That negligence shouldn't affect the guilt of the robbers.

2:45pm R4 The listening zone Radio4 goes out into the community
Who do they find : "A guy X who decided to get political and whilst out canvassing for the Lib Dems met his friend Y who is a trustee of the local mosque, which is special cos it is an eco-mosque
.. she talks about when her daughter started to wear the hijab and talking to her about how after the Bataclan attacks she started to get negative attention, and telling her you don't have to wear one it's not in the Koran"
