took a look at Red Ice but see no Greta content ? .......

I'd add that some YouTube links I've sent to people of Ezra Levant / Rebel News videos have been blocked by YouTube - but are still view-able from one of my accounts.... I just had a conversation with a pal who wanted to watch the original Greta Inc vid after seeing the first couple of minutes - but when he used his laptop from home later >>> YouTube told him the content was "unavailable"

The story reads as honest reporting. The stupidity is in the wasted effort. Presumably rural villagers would prefer to have free firewood supplied in larger quantities and bigger sizes.

I have been told by someone born and educated in East Germany (1960s-70s) that they were taught about the shortage of trees along the Yugoslavian (Dalmatian) and Turkish coastlines and islands. It was due to felling for shipbuilding (and construction) from the 16th century onwards, and represented clear evidence of environmental misuse by man. I don't know whether this is true, or even if it reflected contempt for the Moslem Ottoman Empire.

When it comes to "Did you see this in the Guardian"... Did you see this in the Guardian?

So dumb I am struck dumb. No comment.

Mark Hodgson, That's fine. we have different perspectives and it is an interesting story.
Besides, most of what I type is for the rhythm of the words rather than the content.

"UK sued for approving Europe’s biggest gas power station
Andrea Leadsom overruled climate aims of government’s own planning authority"

Excellent news
From Wikipedia:
"Andrea Jacqueline Leadsom (/ˈlɛdsəm/;[1] née Salmon; born 13 May 1963)[2] is a British Conservative politician serving as Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy since 2019"

She obviously has some understanding of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Written by science and maths failures, for school children being fast tracked to become science and maths failures, destined to become Green Blob Con Artists.

If BBC Management are wondering what they got so wrong, they should read this article. Unfortunately, most will be none the wiser.

M Courtney - sorry, didn't realise you'd already posted about the Drax story in the Guardian.

"Your Questions Answered: How can you heat your home without gas?"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-51183940

"District heating networks could be an option.

They involve creating hot water by burning biomass - for example wood - which is then pumped around the network in highly-insulated pipes for heating and hot water."

You couldn't make this stuff up.

"Our Planet Matters: 'How we've reduced our carbon footprint'"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-berkshire-51295065/our-planet-matters-how-we-ve-reduced-our-carbon-footprint

"We all know we should live more sustainably to reduce the impact of climate change - but how do we do it?

The government calculated the UK's total emissions to be 449 million tonnes of C02e (carbon dioxide equivalent) in 2018 and researchers from Imperial College London say we must eat less meat and dairy, swap cars for bikes, take fewer flights and ditch gas boilers.

With the help of climate expert Dr Eugene Mohareb from the University of Reading, BBC reporter Matt Treacy spent a week finding out if he could reduce his own carbon footprint.

This video is part of Our Planet Matters, a special year-long series covering climate change."

I'm looking forward to the parallel article on how China has increased its carbon footprint....

Andrea Leadsom overruled climate aims of government’s own planning authority"

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/jan/30/uk-sued-for-approving-europes-biggest-gas-power-station

"The UK government is being sued for approving a large new gas-fired power plant, overruling the climate change objections of its own planning authority.

The plant, being developed by Drax in north Yorkshire, would become the biggest gas power station in Europe and could produce 75% of the UK’s power sector emissions when fully operational, according to the environmental lawyers ClientEarth, who have brought the judicial review....

The planning inspectorate also concluded that wind and solar power would cut payers’ bills, while the proposed gas plant would not...."

"wind and solar power would cut payers’ bills". Really?
