Pcar & tomo, if Morocco cannot make electric cars cost efficient with solar power, and the UK can't with subsidised solar power, subsidised wind power AND subsidised battery power cars, then it is clear that subsidies are only increasing the scale of the problem that never existed.
I wonder if COP 22 in Marrakesh will be discussing this and getting guided tours of Noor 1, the super solar farm that is not growing enough electricity.

golf charlieI wonder how many electric cars are at COP22 ?
- how many in Marrakesh on a non-COP22 day even ......?
You'd think the makers would leap at the chance to impress all those non fossil fuel users .... no?
Manufacturers don't want to make or sell them. They are loss leaders to meet EU rules that cars for sale must have an average CO2/km below a mandated level.

John Snow: "far-right news site Breitbart"
The left & establishment lose in UK & USA. Reaction: escalate the classification of anyone who disagrees as "far-right". Like the EU, they keep digging when in a hole.

tomo 12:14 surely just a minor mistake. Morocco is a solar superpower and should be able to charge everything!

Did they forget to buy a long enough extension lead or something?
ah "Thomas Pesquet" @SandyS is saying this French media is not talking about politics cos they are busy with one of those space-bus-drivers
"like getting Corbyn supporters to vote UKIP"
That's the point RIGHT-WING is a phrase which is used as a weapon by Leftmob
neither UKIP nor Trump are rightwing (Le Pen's dad is)
some politics is above simple left/right labels
So yes old Labour supports and old Democrats did vote vote UKIP/Trump (altho media chooses to describe them as racists instead)
I'm seeing claims that the EV charging stations at Marrakesh COP22 are "display models" - i.e. fake....
How appropriate.
TinyCO2 & SandyS, Farage got a good proportion of the General Election vote, but nothing to show for it, in the First Past the Post system.
In the simple Yes/No of the Referendum, UKIP "won". Cameron would not have called the Referendum if he thought he would lose.
I do not know how elections and Political Parties work in France, but Le Pen could be decisive, without actually winning. If as TinyCO2 says she mobilises and motivates those of all Parties who are feeling ignored/bullied/oppressed by the establishment, no one can predict what will happen in France, but the EU will be French Toast. The Germans are taking the full economic impact of BREXIT, as their contributions will have to rise to make up the UK shortfall.
The EU redistributes other people's money. What is the point in the EU, if it has run out of other people's money, because the net contributors have given up contributing?

I'm only telling you what the models say, whether those being polled told the truth I don't know, whether the reporters put a "better" slant on it I don't know. I do know it will be a three horse race in the first round and potentially you're expecting those on the left to shift their votes to a far right candidate. The last couple of elections have shown a strong showing for Le Pen in the first round but little transfer of votes to the FN in the second. Marine Le Pen needs to persuade the electorate that didn't vote for her first time to vote for her in the second round. If it's Le Pen versus UMP this might be difficult, like getting Corbyn supporters to vote UKIP, if it's her versus a Socialist perhaps not so hard, but at this point it's not clear who the socialist candidate will be. Both Hollande and Valls do not have high popularity ratings and Hollande may not stand.
Today and for the rest of this week there is more interest in Thomas Pesquet than politics.
I caught part of an interview with François Fillon on BFMTV this morning, he's a Centre -Right candidate in this weekend's Primaries. One of the topics covered was energy as you'd expect. He's one of the few I've heard or read saying the there is no way renewables can supply all France's energy something like "One day the wind will stop". According to the TV he got the best ratings in the debate last night, he is an Anglophile with a Welsh wife, and Fillon's brother is married to Fillon's wife's sister. He thinks France has too many functionaires. He seems to be a bit of a petrol-head, coming from Les Mans that might not be surprising.
