Still going slow

As readers can probably tell, I'm still struggling to get back in the blogging groove - a combination of being busy earning a living and a distinct lack of anything to say.

No idea whether the situation will change any time soon. I survey the news every morning and can't think of anything to talk about. Perhaps I just need a break.

Hi Bish

I really appreciate your views and insights into the global warming (or whatever it is called at the moment) debate. Indeed, if you can find the necessary muse, your opinions on Brexit would be very welcome. it`s hard to find a overview of the arguments that has the scientific clarity that you offer. If not so motivated, why not do some gardening and get stuck in again when you`re good and ready. The villains are n`t going anywhere.

Best Wishes

This professional and slick Jasper Kirkby. video illustrates the large uncertainties in just one area of climate 'science'.

Thanks to Ross Lea (above)

Someone recently pointed that that a common feature of this forum is to dismiss huge areas of the science then argue about climate sensitivity. The mind boggles when you see Ken Rice arguing the toss on some detail of the subject matter, behaving like some exhausted Indyref warrior.

There are no rules about this (blogging) Andrew - and if there are then you draft them.

Though, I do miss the regular content, the unthreaded is always there and 'conversations' to be had elsewhere on here.

If you decide that, you have more pressing priorities, then of course you must surrender your time and effort attending to matters more urgent and we note, you have a young family and employment commitments, nothing comes before them (not in my book anyway).

I wish you well, whatever your decision may be.

Bit of a post-'Pause' malaise going around? Even the mighty Anthony Watts has felt the need to make blog changes in part because ' the quality of commentary has eroded'. Shurely not?

Mind you in the same post Watts also makes a point of deploring sockpuppetry, so clearly he wants the years during which he allowed mild-mannered moderator Dave Stealey to assume the identity of uber-commenter Smokey in the threads he was moderating to be quietly forgotten …..

… post-‘Pause’ malaise…”? The quote marks around “Pause” imply that you think there never was a pause – something that NASA, the UKMO, and others have long acknowledged, as have the academics (including luminaries such as Trenberth) who have published 60+ peer-reviewed papers attempting to explain the (non-existent?) “Pause”. What puts you in so much doubt about its existence?

Also, the use of the word “malaise” implies that you think sceptics actually want “the Pause” to continue; personally, I want the gentle rise to continue, as I fear the alternative – a fall in temperatures, a scenario that offers far worse than any rise does.

The climate world has slowed down a lot recently, in a way this is a good sign.

The Trump win is the end of climate hysteria and with its prosecution and fall from grace akin to Enron goes the entire lefty brainwashing indoctrination camp which will then turn its wrath back on Al Gore's mafia.

#GamerGate became supercharged into the #TrumpTrain of new young blood on Twitter and now infused into Breitbart. They all now know climate is just another lefty scam like third wave feminism that attacked youthful gaming culture. Climate is a footnote to them but it's rebellion against lefty media and tag-along #cuckservative media too that represents a civil war against the very people pushing climate hysteria.

Older low testosterone retired engineers huddled into skeptical blogs, squandering hundreds of comments per news items instead of invading Twitter and news sites, rejoice, your technical efforts will not have been in vain, for they clarified things enough to render conservatives, albeit usually goofy Creationists, but also competently trained lawyers, to avoid dumb arguments.

The day Climategate hit, a wave of apprehension washed through WUWT as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh picked up on it. Obama has been in charge ever since then though, whitewashing it away, promoting John Cook even. Hillary would have crushed Ted Cruz since he was a cartoon characature of a Bible thumping abortion banner running against a women, whereas Trump is Godzilla. Boom, it's over, we have won.

I am no fan of politicians generally, but do agree that a Trump win would be the single factor most likely to terminate Global Warming stone cold.

If Clinton wins, will John Holdren be retained to run the White House's control of funding and legal support?

Perhaps this story, from theweathernetwork.com would be of interest:

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/mirrors-blamed-for-fire-at-worlds-largest-solar-plant/68180/

There are older links with similar stories there as well. They do have rather accurate hourly forecasts from about a day away. Beyond that not so much.

GC. "A Trump win would be the single factor most likely to terminate Global Warming stone cold". By re-igniting the Cold War perhaps?
