Hottest May evah?

Don't miss the splendid temperature anomaly map for May published by Paul Homewood.

The Met Office, BBC, Guardian etc have failed to grasp that the weather does not respond to propaganda. The public are becoming increasingly cynical about weather disinformation.

If people want guaranteed warm weather, they should travel to Heathrow, and pitch a tent near the Met Office's thermometer, which seems well sited to absorb the warmth of the world's best known Urban Heat Island.

Peter Wadhams suspicions have not always been on the mark but it pays the bills.

Arctic expert predicts final collapse of sea ice within four years.

JonT: I see that: "Dr Boyd is thought to have been struck by lightning while walking in Scotland". So while Wadham likes to think he can control the climate, he thinks that the oil companies (booooo!) can throw bolts of lightning.
As for him being targeted by lorries while riding his bike, I'll bet there are thousands of cyclists in London who could make the same claim. Idiot. (but hardly a useful one - I hope)

Harry

Didn't you know the CIA can control the weather...all very suspicious.

My tin foil hat is at the ready.

Peter Wadham is clearly part of a conspiracy trying to con people into believing the Arctic ice is about to disappear.

This is so dumb and stupid because it is true.

Either the world's top experts in vanishing ice, keep getting stuck in figments of their over active imaginations, or the ice is still there.

What else is there to do, if you are one of the world's top experts in vanishing ice, and there is no vanishing ice to be an expert about? Creative scientists, with nothing to do, feel obliged to create something.

Climate science, where fiction pays better than truth.

Where's Lew when you need him ;)

Jul 25, 2015 at 6:48 PM | Registered CommenterBreath of Fresh Air

B of FA, I think Lew is on his own somewhere, creating the results of another survey he didn't do. He probably had the peer reviewed report completed a while ago, with all the politically correct conclusions, recommending vast increases in research funding for:

Bi-polar bears
Sexual stereo-typing amongst named tropical storms, and the resultant damage caused
Wind chimes, and other causes of Suburban Environmental Stress

Wadhams did make one correct prediction - that he 'feared being labelled a looney' for saying a scientist could be assassinated by lightning bolt!

Re: Wadham's conspiracy. Gravity, inertia, and electro-magnetism. It was physics, it was. Get Ken Rice on the case.

I'm a farmer and make a lot of hay, which requires sunshine and 20C+ heat, so the temperature in June, July and August is something that I am critically aware of as the summer passes. I would say that in my location (Central Southern England) the temperature has been average at best. Yes we had a few hot days, maybe a week, in late June early July, but thats been it. The temperatures otherwise have been nothing untoward - getting into the low 20s on sunny days, but nothing excessively hot. And the last week has been cooler than that, and the rest of July is forecast to be cooler too. Plus there's no sign of any hot weather on the longer range forecasts for August yet either. I would be prepared to wager a smallish sum that summer 2015 (June/July/August) will come out at lower than long term temperature.

I hope His Grace will indulge another post on the Peter Wadhams story. This was the final post permitted, before the Dante-esque "Comments are Closed" label of Doom appeared in the Telegraph:

It isn't just anybody making these claims.

It's a Professor at Cambridge University.

If any of the posters below has even one-tenth of the intellect required to become a Cambridge University Professor, I'd be amazed.
15

Yep, that 15 is the number of people who agree with "Feminist_Future" that any old twaddle spouted by a Cambridge professor (or any other professor, presumably) automatically supersedes differing opinions. It's not an uncommon argument, I suppose, in climate alarmist circles, but it's a bit unusual to see it deployed quite so blatantly. Incidentally, I gather that it's virtually impossible for academics at some universities not to be "professor", these days, so we can expect even more of this sort of thing.

I think its an argument from authority by proxy as Feminist_Future is 97% of the time called Peter. Although I may be getting mixed up with another headline.

Sorry, Jim, is that "...lower than..." before or after the usual 'adjustments'?
