Greens incite violence against academics

James Verdon points us to what appears to be a clear case of anti-fracking activists inciting assault against academics whose results are inconvenient to Gaia's cause.

As James notes, since throwing things at people (even water) is potentially assault it's hard not to construe this as incitement.

Talk Fracking is funded by Vivienne Westwood and Lush Pharmaceuticals.

Young Greens cancel Vivienne Westwood's Kingston appearance after tax avoidance allegations

Why is it when I see Vivienne Westwood and listen to her demented nonsense, my mind wonders on to images of kristallnacht?

The victim in the water incident was a member of the Religion of Peace, so she was lucky it wasn't considered racially aggravated.

I heard of similar incident where a bloke hit by the bucket that the water was in taking exception to it and decking the perpetrator, and it damn nearly cost him his job despite the police stating that there had been no offence, but that was a politically correct organisation that is currently and deservedly going down the toilet, and hopefully someone will flush it away without trace ...

Comfort yourselves by looking at where the Animal Rights turds mostly are: in prison. As 'Progressives' they got a free pass for a long time for their obviously criminal antics. The same will apply to this or any other bunch of lefty 'direct action' twerps. Then Mr & Mrs Average Britain will get fed up, and a nice stern and unbending tory judge will give them a condign sentence. (And a lengthy paragraph, about what a shower they are, before they are taken down).

It has often made my eyes water. I've worked with a lot of lachrymatory chemicals in an industrial laboratory, and we would have left the building at that level of chemical assault.

Vivian Westwood shares the same characteristics as Russell Brand.
Full of rambling, misplaced, idiotic rhetoric that neither interests nor inspires the sensible, intelligent folk of this world who simply don't believe their B******t.

Vivienne Westwood and son Joseph Corre gave David Cameron a rather unusual present last Christmas:
https://sites.google.com/site/mytranscriptbox/2014/20141218_vw

Joseph Corre: This morning we have attempted to deliver a Christmas present to Mr. Cameron, which is a box of asbestos. This is because the government's Chief Scientific Advisor Mr. Walport has advised that fracking could be the next asbestos or thalidomide.

A few seconds later comes a little logic puzzle:

Vivienne Westwood: You are being lied to, all the time. And we are not lying.

Liar paradox? :-)

What on earth are our police doing? Perhaps I should not use the word "our" in connection with the British police since they, or rather the chief constables, often seem to be our enemies.

Suppose this thuggery had been perpetrated by the English Defence League. Does anyone doubt that the police would have arrested everyone connected with he EDL that they could find? In Britain nowadays, having PC views or belonging to a PC client group gives you a free pass. Just ask the Rotherham rapists.

"I cannot contemplait that her pre-pubessant banal view carries any further than her cutting room" Gary Westwood.

Unfortunately people like this are listened to. Journalists like them because they're controversial and hacks seek out anyone who disturbs governments. Young people like them because Westwood and co are idealistic and put a boot up the grownups. Governments fret what journalists and da youf want, although they shouldn't, they should be concerned with what their voters want.

There has never been any observational proof that mean planetary 'Surface Air Temperature' is 15.5 K lower than surface temperature, mandatory for mean 157.5 W/m^2 'Clear Sky Atmospheric Greenhouse Factor' surface IR warming and the Enhanced GHE. A decade ago, Hansen admitted NASA had tried to find it, but couldn't, so model it: http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/abs_temp.html

The greens have been fed a diet of scientific untruths.

We know the greens are wrong and they know they are wrong. This is desperate behaviour by a movement built on lies that is increasingly turning to intimidation in order to shut down a debate they will lose.
Natalie Bennett's recent public disasters have shone a light on green idiocy and revealed it in all its glory. She has developed a form of Tourette's whereby any probing question about finance is greeted with, 'We have a fully costed budget which we will publish shortly.' Another green made a fool of himself on radio the other day when he couldn't answer a question about media ownership. Even committed greens are waking up to the fact their genuine concern about the environment is being used by some very unpleasant characters.
Hopefully, their days are now numbered.

It has always been that way under English common law. It is now an offence under Section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

"Common assault and battery shall be summary offences and a person guilty of either of them shall be liable to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or to both"

Battery is the act of using physical violence against another.
Assault is the act of creating apprehension of physical violence.
Battery would follow assault, obviously.

fwiw ... I think that both Lush and that harridan whilst ostensibly supporting these causes have a way more cynical take on their involvement. After all didn't Viv shack up with that maestro of outrage fueled self promotion one Malcolm McLaren ?

If you were perchance to look at what similar exposure would cost via standard advertising - the pair of them are getting an absolute bargain and connecting to customers in a way that simply wouldn't be possible (thanks... BBC) if they simply pursued standard marketing strategies.

I have a Saab 93 estate. it is a 1.9 turbo-diesel and an enormous great barge of a car. It averages between 45 and 55 mpg depending on how long the journey is. Incidentally, during the summer I cycle a lot so I hardly use it for six months of the year.

Just reading Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" . It reads like a road map of exactly what perversity is going on in today's world. She even nailed the rise of "Oil shales" that will "make other oilfields look like mud puddles".

It is actually quite jolting and scary, right down to Obama's infamous "You didn't build that" line.

I didn't expect the liberal left to be so liberal at stealing ideas and catch phrases from Ayn Rand's villains, but they are, either intentionally, or likely unintentionally.

Quite amazing prescience. I wish she was less so.

'Just threatening violence' is a standard crime under common law, and has been so for centuries. The crime is called 'assault'. Actually directing violence towards another is a separate crime, called ''battery'.

This is, as far as I know, the case in all UK influenced judiciaries, and all foreign ones, and so I don't think there is anywhere in the world (where a legal code operates!) where you could not have been arrested for making such a threat - either today or 100 years ago...

Dodgy: My neighbour, an elderly, divorced woman is (so a policeman told me - and I have myself witnessed) considered paranoid. She has CCTV everywhere - pointed at my house, illegally high fences, barbed wire entanglements and floodlights shining into my house. She also tells everyone that she needs these defences because I break into her property - she actually told my local council exactly that at at a public meeting. When she insulted my wife in the street I felt I needed to tell her that I would sue her for defamation. Unfortunately, her CCTV caught me walking towards her wagging my finger. When she attacked me with a door I protected myself and after FOUR seconds (on CCTV), walked away.
Then the police arrested me for assault! It's now cost me four figures and when it got to court I was discharged. The Magistrate did say that technically I was guilty of assault so I had to pay costs. What wonderful laws we have. Meanwhile, I live with CCTV, floodlights......and no justice.

"We would now like to formally invite / challenge James Verdon to a public head to head debate with Paul Mobbs, on the issues raised within our ‘Frackademics’ report and Mr Verdon’s criticism of it.
