Growing ice is evidence of warming

With Antarctic sea ice breaking extent records again this week, the green fraternity has been forced to go the full Monty on the PR front in an effort to negate the impact. In an article today, Grist reports that the ever-expanding sea ice is in fact bad news.

I kid you not.

For the third year in a row, the sea ice ringing Antarctica has set a new record. Its extent is the farthest now since observations began in the late ’70s, and scientists say the growth is largely the result of climate change.

Antarctic sea ice melts during the early part of the year but typically packs it back on by September. The ice broke last year’s record for extent on Monday, according to a report in New Scientist. It’s the latest evidence of a small but significant growth trend of about 1.5 percent per decade.

More sea ice is evidence of global warming. Less sea ice is global warming.

The problem is, I think they probably actually believe what they are saying. Their mystification as to why other people might not be convinced is a wonder to behold.

PS Ingrid, if you want facts and almost nothing else then Climate Audit is the place. It's tightly moderated so people don't get away with incorrect or untruthful comments but it isn't the place for off topic or trivial questions either. Alternatively you could set up your own blog and set any rules you like.

Ingrid,
Do tell us how skeptics asking questions and pointing out failed policies and deceptive practices of climate fear promoters is dishonest.

TinyCO2,
Giving a climate fanatic an opening to reframe the conversation and avoid defending their apocalyptic obsession is not useful.
The issue is and always will be if the climate is changing in new dangerous ways.
Since it is not, we need to focus on that fact.
Allowing the obsessed and the fanatics to frame the discussion is to allow them to keep the same circular reasoning unchallenged.

Refer to the scam as Catastrophic Man Made Global Warming Horror as it used to be described as on the A.B.C.
The greens eyes bulge out and they froth at the mouth while gushing out venomous ad hominem attacks. No science is mentioned. It's hilarious.

steve,
Exactly. A client of mine who develops inner city property and is quite well to do approached me about their buying a Tesla for some advice on the purchase.
They are buying a previously wrecked one to get a deep discount in the new price ~$100K US.
The husband is a lawyer with zip technical background. But he wants a Tesla 'for the cause'. When I asked 'what cause'? I was told that he is a big believer and really thinks this is a good thing to do. I chose the path of cowardice and did not go into the climate implications of spending money on one. I just answered the question and mentioned that for a lot less money one could get a nice new Volvo that burns gasoline and gets over 35 miles per gallon if the Tesla thing did not work out. In other words, reality vs. posing.
