The comments threads are getting very heated and rude again. Could everyone try to keep their contributions polite.

I noticed that the other day.

I've only been away a couple of months, but the place has filled with chanting hooligans in my absence.

This used to be a place for constructive disagreement.

No it didn't.

Maybe if we all started using our real names.... ;)

"Maybe if we all started using our real names.... ;)"

Like "Bishop Hill" ;-)

Or as Anthony might say in a Reply: "Small minded people who want to tear me down personally or speak in third person lagomorphic languages do become tiresome though. – Anthony"

I heartily endorse this; but do not know what it means...

Nor do I, unless it's a scholarly way of saying that some people rabbit on...

I might have sinned on the latest post

You have education, James; I believe you're onto something.
I quit after chasing it this far:

any placental mammal of the order Lagomorpha, having two pairs of upper incisors specialized for gnawing: includes pikas, rabbits, and hares

Discussion has also been more heated than usual lately on the climateskeptics subreddit

I have a theory that this tends to happen during periods when there are a lot of 'big news' but no news affecting the bigger picture, or certainty in a significant way. Then issues about thermometers in a certain region or temperatures in certain regions during a specific season, or anything that is more PR than game changing, inspire a lot of heated debate. Especially during summer holidays in the northern hemisphere.

Insist on real names.

That would be Eli Rabbet. He always speak about himself in the third person too.

Anthony's favourite odd word out is 'to bloviate'.

Sorry, James!

I think I sinned by stating that yes, a rocking horse would have a wooden "member" :(

Typical Bishop -.-

Now we all have to confess our sins.

Lagomorphic Language - I had always assumed this referred to a rabbit's habit of "coprophagy". I couldn't see what would be meant by "rabbit shaped"

Liddy,

linking to web page where a narcissistic right-wing crank whines about a narcissistic climate crook is as offensive as it gets to my sensibilities. Don't do it again or you may hear from me appropriately modified rude words.
