Hilary Ostrov writes about Hiding the Decline at her blog.

Like its predecessor, I’m finding that HTD is definitely a page-turner; and while I do have a few quibbles (mostly of the techno-virtual kind and on which I shall elaborate in a future post – when I’ve completed my reading), I would urge all who haven’t done so to buy your copy now!

She also discusses a little unpleasantness with Bob Ward.

Read the whole thing.

On a slight tangent, I'm afraid, but it seems Lemmings drove Range Rovers in the Pleastocene era...

Any interaction with crazy Bob is bound to be unpleasant. What a shame people like Bob had my YouTube channel taken down, otherwise I could post a link to Bob Ward ranting at Fraser Nelson and looking a right loon.

My copy arrived yesterday; I have just started the first chapter and looking forward to the rest of my read. I am already keeping an eye on the dates of the various reported events and email exchanges and wondering how they fit in with the parallel propaganda programme that was conducted by the government and the BBC. Presumably we will only know the full story if and when the rest of the emails can be accessed.

The Bert Rutan presentation has just been posted at WUWT. At the end there is an interesting exchange between him and Anthony Watts on who will be the scapegoats when the public finally becomes aware of what has been done to them. His view is that the politicians will blame the scientists and that the scientists will be looking for a soft landing. No doubt smoke and mirrors will, again, be called in to play their part.

@ Swiss Bob, I've been looking everywhere on the net for another recording of the Bob Ward/Fraser Nelson conversation on Sky News, I don't suppose you know if there is a duplicate/backup copy anywhere?

Afraid not, I was the only one to record and upload it, unfortunately a campaign was waged against my channel and the whole lot was taken down.

I say a campaign because much of the stuff I was accused of copyright infringement is still all over YouTube and the stuff I was done for I'd uploaded years previously.

Swiss Bob, there are others than YouTube, likeVimeo.
Don't worry.

Swiss Bob

There's a story to be told here by the sounds of it.

The scientists of course. The politicians and media can work well together when they need to. Also the scientists would lose out anyway if they ever had their funding taking away from them, they are very dependent on the taxpayer....

I'm about halfway through Hiding the Decline (epub version) - pretty good so far, it's like re-reading a familiar detective story where you know what happens in the end but still greatly relish the journey.

@ Swiss Bob, sad to hear about your channel being deleted - there was some good stuff there. And it's not the first time I've heard of a certain bias in the way YouTube (Google) operates.

I'm about halfway through my copy too, and I think it's great. Andrew you've done a huge service to the world by chronicling this story so carefully. I'll have more to say on it when I've finished.

Bish, Alex,

Yes there was some good stuff, a couple of videos were up near the million views mark, you may remember Prof Andrew Watson called Mark Morano an arsehole, that was used by CBS amongst others.

The only evidence I have for the campaign waged against my channel is based on the violations suddenly appearing for old videos, clips of comedy stuff, so I deleted everything not news related, then I got copyright violations for BBC and Sky news stuff from companies (not the BBC or Sky) that claimed the digital rights but look what people have on their channels today that's allowed. I created another channel and the same thing happened but they've left the remaining videos. Here's one with 100,000+ views that was actually many more, I just got annoyed when no one gave me a h/t so deleted it a couple of times and re uploaded it (yes you Zero Hedge).

I think my blog irritated a lot of people :-)

Who wants to take a bet .They will leak the Levison Report (Like Hutton) . Politicals can check the public reaction before Cameron makes his statement.
