Nobody who has the ability to read should ever need to "wonder" about the contents of a book. Once read, there will be knowledge of its contents and knowledge can only be good or should we revert to celebrating Opernplatz, sorry, Bebelplatz?

[snip] Sure, most cogniscenti know that 'Hide the Decline' refers to the Divergence Problem, but that is inside baseball; the way 'Hide the Decline' is interpreted by hoi polloi is about a temperature decline, a much simpler idea to understand. Though the polloi mistake it, the lesson of scientific malpractice is more easily understood by mistaking it than were they to try to understand the Divergence Problem.
The wonders are performed in mysterious and ironic ways.

If take that argument further then all our media would just be pronouncements of "facts" or "truth". And as the only arbiter of such decisions would be the State, then all you would have is a State media. And we all know how well that has worked in the past.
There is something called freedom of speech and if BH has not broken any laws, then he is entitled to publish, and you are entitled not to buy. You have the CHOICE to spend your cash on something else that does suit your tastes. Welcome to democracy.

The decision to hide the decline, and the dogged refusal to admit that this was an error, has endangered the credibility of the whole of climate science. If the rot is not stopped then the credibility of the whole of science will eventually come into question.

Thanks for my copy, Bish. Excellent to have a "refresher" on the hockey Stick - I gave my copy to my MP, the ghastly Angus Robertson, ages ago. Not only did he not thank me, he didn't deign to acknowledge it.

Do you mean to say that you know there is only a single individual responsible for disclosure of the Climategate emails? It seems that you do, yet you also use the word 'they' in your paragraph so I am sincerely confused by what you said.

just to record that i downloaded the kindle version, which came with a .prc filename. I renamed the file to .mobi and the upload to kindle, and reading, worked just fine.

In the part of my 62+ years I can still recall, it is the first time I have encountered the word ‘outwith’. At first I thought it a typo, but it is a word and it appears that it was used properly.
