Papers with results that depend on unpublished computer code should be held in the same regard as grey literature.

But what will the establishment do? They will merely point to the three hearings/enquiries and state that the science of Mann Made Global Warming (tm) has been cleared of all wrong doing...and continue to hide the data and do everything else that has so debased their religion.

I don't consider Nature a scientific journal, nor have for about 20 years.

This is a very good article. I have doubts about one of the recommendations he reports. Is it realistic to think that a publication is going to find someone to review code prior to publication? I don't think this makes any more sense than expecting a reviewer to replicate the research.

Were publications to review code, they might then be able to say that "We've looked at it, run it, and it's sound and therefore you don't need to see it. Trust us."

Much much better to make it available and accessible at the time of publication for review by those most interested and the occasional mining engineer.
