Has anyone else noticed the first two comments under Steve M's post on the New Statesman 50? Made me laugh anyway...

Filthy, sexist and divisive.

And funny.

Whew, Steve, you just beat out Moqtada al’Sadr who is at #33, and just behind James Cameron at #30.

Since Steve M is listed along with James Cameron, does that mean he'd be at Cameron's level to debate climate change? Not forgetting Sarah Palin and Hugio Chavez?

Comments below the actual list are worth a look, too.

Not totally O/T since it relates to Steve's hockey stick demolition, there is an important post today on WUWT on a new temperature reconstruction for the extratropical Northern Hemisphere (90–30°N), with decadal resolution, covering the last two millennia.

My congrats to Steve too.

Some cracking comments on the James Delingpole blog about Steve's success. My favourite: 'For you, the warm is over'.

Elsewhere on the DT blogs (on a political subject) 'Things can only get bitter'

The difference a single letter can make....

Thanks for the reference to Delingpole, CL. I liked this comment:

I'm sure someone should create a new prize for 'debunking crap spouted by the High and Mighty' - maybe call it the McIntyre Prize, eh?
