Delingpole on Heartland

James Delingpole reports on his appearance at the Heartland conference.

Wow! Finally in my life I get to experience what it’s like to be a rock star and I’m loving every moment. OK, so the drugs are in pretty short supply. As too is the meaningless sex with nubile groupies. But what do I care, the crowd love me and I love them. God bless America! God bless the Heartland Institute’s Fourth International Conference on Climate Change!

James Delingpole said to the attendees:

"Hand up, those of you who are funded by BIG OIL"

no hands went up

"Who would LIKE to be FUNDED by BIG OIL"

ALL hands went up...

Maybe the BBC realises now that the big oil vested sceptic interests argument was a bit weak now......

And that there are huge banking/governemnet and BIG Energy interests in the catastophic version of AGW theory..

LIke my purchase of a JPMORGAN Carbon Care Certificate indicates:

James Delingpole has a way with words. Let's hope the likes of James Delingpole, Christopher Booker, Richard North etc keep on coming. Is there anyone of equal stature in the US?

"The Review hopes to have submit preliminary conclusions to UEA in Spring 2010.
What does “in the Spring” mean?
Appropriately, meteorologists define Spring as March to May. We will move as quickly as we can, but we can’t give a precise date now."

Anyone knows when this preliminary report will be published ?

Preliminary report was due to be published no later than the end of May. This is amplified several times in the FAQ on the web site. But I suspect the preliminary report is simple the advance copy that is made available to the UEA (and possibly the RS) so that they can get their comebacks prepared.

That being the case, I would nevertheless expect to see a published version within a week, failing which at least some sort of holding statement on the web site.

So now Delingpole knows from personal experience the sensation that has been seducing all those pro-AGW scientists all these years.

OT - there was a BBC Radio 4 Analysis programme this week on the pros and cons of suspending democracy to tackle climate change (includes transcript) http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00sfwtc

Sounds like Delingpole had a smashing time! Who knows? Maybe some warmists will sneak in next time to take in some of the fun. God knows they haven't had any for quite some time now.
