McKitrick on the Hockey Stick

This was posted in the comments on WUWT. I'm not sure if it's recent or not, but it hasn't been on YouTube for long. I've never seen it before.

Do you have seven and a half minutes to spare out of your crowded, creative, busy life? I recommend that you find it, and watch this bit of video, now conveniently viewable at Bishop Hill, this video being ... well, see the title of this posting. Of it, the good Bishop ...

Thanks. We have here a clear, brilliant distillation of the whole story by one of its key participants, Dr McItrick.

If I meet anyone who is too cheap to buy the Bishops book, I shall now be definitely pointing them to this clip if they want to have a primer on the whole Hockey stick story :-)

Note the calm, descriptive manner? So like the ramblings of the gang! My current favourite on Youtube is

Silly but fun

A nice clear interview. I presume that this was sometime 2008 when the book Taken by Storm came out? So pre Climategate. A very good response from the interviewer under those circumstances. Hereafter events shall be calculated AC Ante Climategate and PC Post Climategate and Climategate itself will be High Noon for climate scientists.

I love McKitrick's final line regarding the pro AGW argument: .... "held together by 'duck' tape." Note that I prefer the spelling 'duck' tape rather than 'duct' tape because the former reminds me of 'Quack, Quack', an appropriate analogy. Actually there is a Duck brand Duct Tape. However, it is too late to re-christen The Hockey Team as The Duck Tape Guys, as the latter identity has already been assumed; see:

McKitrick makes an excellent spokesperson - IMO he is stronger than Steve McIntyre in this one regard. He is very clear, forceful is a pleasant way and always seems to be exactly on point.

Ross is such a brilliant guy. He sort of bumbled around for the first sentence of two, and then unleashed a devastatingly cogent, simple narrative that anyone could understand. He's a very effective communicator.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Do not miss this.

In clear, concise language Dr. McKitrick slices and dices, then flays and slays "the hockey stick."

Dr McKitrick is one of the heroes. I'm very pleased to have seen him speak and know what he looks like, which only makes me admire him even more. Thank you for showing this.
